The historic
fishing village of Polperro is also close by as are the sandy
beaches of Whitsand Bay and Talland Bay. A little further along the
coast lies the fishing port of Fowey (home of Daphne
du Maurier ) where you can enjoy steamboat river trips as well visit
the Daphne du Maurier Literary Centre.
The
famous Eden Project
and the renowned Lost
Gardens of Heligan are a half hour drive from Cleese Farm. Mount
Edgcumbe House and Country Park, situated in the 'forgotten corner'
of Cornwall with outstanding coastal views and walks, is also well worth
a visit.
There
are quite a number of National Trust properties within easy reach including
the magnificent houses and grounds at Antony,
Cotehele
and Lanhydrock.
